Agenda Item: Greetings and introductions

Vice-Chair Scott Livingston called the meeting to order and welcomed those in attendance.

Agenda Item: Review and Approval of October Council Meeting Minutes

Vice-Chair Livingston moved that the minutes from the October meeting be approved; there was a second, and the motion passed.

Agenda Item: Resident Comments

There were no resident comments.

Agenda Item: Monthly Financial Report

The Town Manager presented an overview of the Section’s current financial status, and entertained questions from the Council.

Agenda Item: Manager’s Report

-The Town Manager said the meeting for down county municipalities to discuss small cell technology is set for November 28. The group will work to draft similar regulations and fees for the deployment of small cell tower technology should a municipal ordinance be deemed necessary.

-The Town Manager noted that the Section will plant 34 new trees this December as part of the Section’s Free Tree program. Dr. Feather is currently working with residents to choose the location and specimen of tree. The trees will be planted in both public town spaces and private gardens.

-The Town Manager recently attended a meeting with Montgomery County officials regarding Section 5’s interest in participating in a proposed pilot project that would introduce dockless bikes and e-scooters to the Chevy Chase area. These types of transportation are currently only available in Takoma Park and Silver Spring. There was a discussion regarding the logistics and requirements for dockless bikes and scooters. The Section decided not to participate in the initial phase of the project, but the Council will reassess the decision in the spring.

-Section Building Administrator Joe Toomey provided a brief update on a large home project on Thornapple Street.

Vice-Chair Livingston adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be held December 11, 2018, at 7:30 PM at the Village Hall, 5906 Connecticut Avenue. The Village Hall has handicapped access. Everyone is welcome.
