ABOUT MONTGOMERY SECURITY SERVICES

OWNERS:

Montgomery Investigative & Security Services, Ltd. was established in 1981 by two Montgomery County Police Officers, Dan Frishkorn and Joe Pavlock. Their purpose was to organize a well trained security force that would be effective yet respect the Constitutional rights of others. We are one of few agencies in the state that offer a combination of Security Officers, Off Duty Police Officers and Private Detectives. Rising crime rates and decreased police presence has created a need for private security programs. Our programs offer a unique option to combine the services of all of the above.

GOAL:

To DETER crime by creating a strong visibility of security by utilizing law enforcement type uniforms, equipment and patrol vehicles.

EMPLOYEE SELECTION & TRAINING:

We recruit personnel from local law enforcement / military training / scholastic programs. We actively recruit Criminal Justice students and graduates. Our employees must attend quarterly mandatory in-house training. Our training includes basic police sciences, civil & criminal procedures, legal powers, laws of arrest, report writing, emergency responses, public relations, self defense and first aid. We offer our employees optional training to become certified in and eligible to carry handcuffs and OC pepper spray.

All personnel are investigated by the Maryland State Police (the agency that regulates the Security & Private Detective agencies in the state). Fingerprints are also forwarded to the FBI for another criminal background check.

Once all training is completed and prior to starting a job, our Security Director, Supervisor and Officer will tour the job site along with our Client.

UNIFORMS, EQUIPMENT & VEHICLES:

VISIBILITY deters crime • our uniforms, equipment and vehicles strongly resemble law enforcement. We enhance our credibility by wearing a 5 point silver star badge and police type "Sam Browne" belt geared with handcuffs and OC pepper spray. Our security vehicles look like police cruisers as they are Chevrolets with bar lights. At night one can not differentiate our security car from a police car. The presence of our security vehicles can DETER crime BEFORE it happens.

We also maintain a fleet of covert surveillance vehicles equipped with state of the art video cameras. Good quality video can enhance the prosecution / defense of any case.

SUPERVISION & QUALITY CONTROL:

Our staff is constantly supervised and monitored by various means. Our supervisors make scheduled routine and surprise inspections to make sure our Officers are safe and properly performing the security duties dictated by our Clients.

We compile Site Directives for each of our sites according to our client's specific security needs.

Site Directives are kept on site and with every field supervisor. Our President routinely reviews and updates our directives with our Client.

Our clients receive personal attention from our security management staff. Because of our police experience and relationships we are able to offer our clients prompt response to their security problems.
