Council meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm at the Village Hall, 5906 Connecticut Avenue.

The two year terms of office of the Chairman (Andrew Smith), Vice-Chairman (Ira Rosenbaum), and Treasurer (Margy Abbot) end April 2007 and these Council seats are open for re-election. Ira Rosenbaum will run for his fourth successive term and Margy Abbott for her second.

Event Chevy Chase Historical Society 25th Anniversary Spring Program (Chevy Chase Village Hall, 5906 Connecticut Ave, from May 16, 2006 07:30 PM to May 16, 2006 09:00 PM)
The Chevy Chase Historical Society (CCHS) will present its 25th Anniversary Spring Program on May 16, 7:30 p.m. at the Chevy Chase Village Hall, 5906 Connecticut Avenue, Chevy Chase. William Offutt, the teacher and author of Bethesda - A Social History, will be the speaker. Mr. Offutt's topic will be the "Pre-History of Chevy Chase." He will tell us about the time before Chevy Chase was established, including descriptions of the original settlers, the farms, the agricultural economy and major events such as the War of 1812 and the Civil War. Finally, he will review how the advent of railroads and trolleys set the stage for one of the first planned suburbs in the United States, Chevy Chase. The public is invited to the program, which will begin at 8:00 p.m. A short business meeting will precede the program. Light refreshments will be served previous to the meeting.
