Kids Safe: Playing in the Street

The Council wishes to remind residents that any unsupervised play in the street is risky. Such activities as basketball, touch football, street hockey or just running around while waiting for the school bus should be discouraged.

The Council wishes to remind residents who may have set up basket ball hoops on their property or the median strips in front of their house of the danger for children whilst playing in the street or in close proximity to it.

Although we have placed some signs to warn motorists to excercise greater care and awareness of children whilst driving through the Section we ask your assistance in discouraging children from playing in the street.

Residents should recognize that, if any accident should occur, the injured may seek to hold responsible the resident of the house fronting the street where unsupervised activity is taking place.

Please help us keep the children of the Section safe from accident and injury as a possible result of playing in public streets.
